I grew up in Houston, graduated from St Thomas High School, earned a BA in Economics from Austin College, and acquired post-graduate credits sufficient to meet CPA candidacy from the University of Houston.

I currently serve as the Executive Director for the Hermann Eye Fund, a non-profit dedicated to basic science and clinical research, teaching, and indigent patient care in the field of ophthalmology.  The Eye Fund primarily supports the eye service at Memorial Hermann Hospital and the department of ophthalmology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

I have held a Texas Real Estate Broker license since 1988.  Past experience includes work in many areas of the residential and commercial real estate  business including brokerage, management, and development, as well as office administration.  I have been involved in professional training and small business consulting services.  Through Alvin Community College I have taught business software classes, primarily Microsoft Office and QuickBooks, and continue to serve as the program coordinator for the motorcycle safety program, which I have done since 2009.  I have also provided corporate training independently and through Alvin College, College of the Mainland, Galveston College, and Leisure Learning Unlimited.  Among the companies I have had the pleasure of training are UTMB, Texas A&M Galveston, American National Insurance Company, Marathon Oil Co, RiceTec, and Ascend Performance Materials.

For six years, ending in 2016, I wrote news and current event stories for the City of Manvel for the Reporter News, a regional news paper that covers Manvel, Pearland, Friendswood, and northern Brazoria county.

I reside in Pearland with my wife and son.
